French Indochina is a former French colony in Southeast Asia (1887-1954), which included the territories of modern Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, created to govern the region and its resources, but ended with the collapse of the colony after national liberation movements and wars. Mekong is a great river of Indochina, one of the longest in Asia (about 4,500 km), flowing through China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, known for its rich culture and life, feeding huge areas of rice and being an important transport route and source of food.
