The Altai Mountains are a majestic Central Asian range spanning Russia, China, Mongolia, and Kazakhstan, known for stunning peaks (highest: Mt. Belukha), deep valleys, vast steppes, and rich biodiversity, including snow leopards, forming headwaters for major rivers like the Ob & Irtysh, and partly recognized by UNESCO as the "Golden Mountains of Altai" for unique vegetation zones and cultural heritage.
